Prefab steel riding arenas of all shapes and sizes are built all over the world for uses from horse shows to simple leisure. Prefab Steel Structures are the most dependable in all types of terrain and weather conditions. With easy and quick construction/erection time, the steel riding arenas can be up within a few days instead of month so that training days and competition times can be met.
Open Air or Enclosed Steel Horse Riding Arenas
Coastal Steel Structures offer two different types of steel riding arenas: closed and open. Depending on the climate of the area that the arena is going up in usually is whether the owner wants an open or closed steel riding arena. In warmers climates, the arena will be a roof only structure to help keep energy cost down. The need for cooling and heating the building is not necessary. In the colder climate, an indoor riding arena is more desirable, allowing for insulation to place within the walls and be heated and cooled for comfort of both the rider and horse.
Why Steel Outdoor – Indoor Riding Arenas?
Metal riding arenas allow for an unobstructed clear span of space for closed and open steel riding arenas. There are not any pillars or columns that need to be placed in order to hold up the building. This allows for all space within the arena to be used. With the space that is given it can be used for much more than a riding space if desired. Stalls can be created with the extra space within the structure for when the horses are waiting for their turn to show their skills or simply mosey along. Depending on how far the barn is located from the steel riding arena, if there is in fact one located on property, the horses will be ready for their event within the arena instead of having to be brought up or have to stay in the trailer that they were transported in. Separate tack rooms and wash rooms can also be created for storage within the arena.
Coastal Steel Structures works closely with its engineers to ensure the safety and durability of the structures. The building is designed, fabricated and braced off of the area that the erection will be done by using the International Buildings Codes. Safety is very important when housing or providing some type of shelter. The wall and roof panels have a superior seal that helps to keep out moisture, bugs, and vermin. This is very crucial whether the steel riding arena is indoor or outdoor. It will also help with keeping the cost of electricity down by not allowing any outside elements in.
Have the pristine look of an arena, no matter how small the facility actually is, prefabricated steel buildings have the ability to give its riders just that. Steel is very easy to clean and keep sanitized unlike other building materials that can hold on to bacteria long after it has been cleaned. The view of the entire arena can be seen as soon as walking into the structures and that’s what makes prefab metal buildings great. Wherever someone is inside of the arena the show or practice can be seen.
A Steel Structure will last for generations. Coastal Steel Structures wants see this lifestyle and hobby last for the years to come. With its strong durability and ability to withstand the elements these arenas were meant to last.

Condensation Blankets for Metal Buildings
Reflective Insulation greatly increases comfort by reducing radiant heat gain. The barriers consist of a highly reflective material that reflects radiant heat rather than absorbing it. Our reflective insulation is effective used alone or in conjunction with fiberglass batts for optimal thermal performance.
Gutters and Downspouts for Metal Buildings
When it comes to metal buildings, it’s the little features you want to pay attention to. Gutters and downspouts are the first place you should start on your steel building. Gutters are essential to those that want to keep the weather out and protect their investment. Gutters and downspouts protect from water damage by diverting rainwater, melting snow and heavy condensation from the roof by diverting it elsewhere.
Walking through runoff rain and water while entering your building is not the most tolerable way to enter you newly built prefabricated steel building. Failure to get gutters and downspouts can affect the quality and durability of your prefab building.
3 Reasons for Gutters and Downspouts for Your Metal Building
- You Will Protect Your Investment and Save Money.
- Prevent Widespread Moisture Damage.
- Physical Comfort.
Lean-to Metal Building Roof Additions
A lean-to building addition is very popular for many different reasons. Typically, a lean-to is an open roof cover that is attached to the main structure. Lean-to roof additions are typically between 8’ feet and 16’ feet wide. The lean-to is often the most popular option for inexpensive covered storage for homes and commercial metal buildings. Lean-to’s can be used for cars, boats, RV’s, farm equipment, firewood, dog kennels and more. Some lean-to roof covers have designated space for hot tubs, and back patios for BBQs and overall relaxation. When you’re designing your building, this is one addition you should take into consideration.
Framed Openings for Metal Buildings
Framed openings for prefabricated metal buildings can be ordered in any size you wish. The size you request should be the clear opening your building requires for the door or window/louver it’s intended for. Please take into consideration any shimming you’ll need to do when taking sizes into account.
All openings are field-located unless it’s been noted otherwise within the order documents. Our team at Coastal Steel can help you go over measurements during the design phase. Certain load requirements require the use of hot-rolled structural channel. When this happens, pre-drilling will be required for attachment of the trim and panel. The jambs for framed openings will extend to the next standard girt elevation or eave strut above the height of the opening for door tracks being attached.
Jamb extensions are provided if the door has a vertical lift which is specified up to twice the door height or the eave strut. Standard jamb designs can support roll up doors up to 2000 lbs.
Galvanized Secondary Members
Coastal Steels metal buildings have a hot-dip galvanized steel frame. All primary and secondary framing members are zinc coated to outperform inferior paint primers used by other manufacturers. Our Zinc galvanizing process prevents rust and ensures a long life-cycle of performance. Coastal steel buildings are designed with a patented easy bolt-together connection technology, which compliments a sturdy bracing system for extra rigidity against wind and snow loads.
All Coastal Steels Buildings are made in America, by American workers and with 100% American made quality steel. quality materials, skilled craftsmanship and cutting-edge technology are combined with a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.
