When longtime horseman and rancher Steve Munz set out to build a roping arena in Oxford, Florida, he was thinking like a horseman, not a developer. He wanted a space that worked like a real arena. Wide, open, and built to handle the speed and intensity of team roping. Years in the equestrian world had taught him what matters most. Durability, efficiency, and a layout that keeps horses, livestock, and people moving smoothly.
Steve had already seen what a pre-engineered metal building can do and how well it performs in a steel riding arena environment. Partnering again with Coastal Steel Structures was a trust based decision. The goal was simple. Build something that performs on competition days and holds up just as well during everyday ranch use.

Challenges
The biggest challenge was timing. The metal commercial building design was fully permitted, but it came in over budget. Changing the layout or appearance was not an option without risking delays and added costs, so every solution had to fit within strict boundaries.
The team was also new to prefab commercial buildings, which created understandable hesitation. There were real questions about whether a pre engineered metal commercial building could look right, feel right, and perform the way the space needed to.
Then the unexpected happened. The construction lender went insolvent, and funding was suddenly frozen. What was already a stressful situation quickly became personal, putting pressure on decisions and testing the strength of every partnership involved.
Solutions
Coastal Steel Structures focused on finding answers that respected both the plans and the people behind them. The building was redesigned as a pre-engineered metal building that matched the permitted footprint, height, and layout while bringing costs back under control. The building was detailed to support masonry finishes so the final look stayed true to the original design.
Just as important, Coastal took the time to walk the owner and team through the process, explaining how the system worked and why it made sense. When financing fell apart, Coastal offered flexible payment terms and stayed hands on through coordination and planning. That support helped keep the project moving forward and reminded everyone they were not tackling it alone.

Chris, We wanted to take a moment and thank you for your continued support and good products in the horse industry. BRS entered into this Market in 2014 and since then we have built 4 structures with you including 3 indoor arenas and a large Commercial Garage. Your product is of top quality and your support with the engineered drawings is outstanding. You take your time when you are with us and do not rush us out the door. Also, when there were any field discrepancies you jumped at the opportunity to make it right. For that, we thank you and hope to do business with you well into the future. Have a great night.

Proven Coast to Coast
Built on Trust. Proven by Repeat Business.
Our business wasn’t built on first impressions — it was built on repeat business. The contractors, architects, and erectors who choose us once tend to keep choosing us, and refer the ones who come after them.
That’s how a company rooted in South Florida ended up building in nearly every region of the country. Clear communication, honest guidance, and real accountability don’t just deliver a great steel building. They build the kind of trust that travels.
